1803 Electric Cooperative, Inc., a generation and transmission cooperative providing wholesale power and delivery service in Louisiana, announced that current Chief Executive Officer Brian Hobbs will be retiring at the end of May 2026. The 1803 Board of Directors has selected Ron Repsher as the next Chief Executive Officer.
Repsher has served as Chief Operating Officer of 1803 Electric Cooperative since September 2023 and has been instrumental in the startup of the new G&T. Repsher brings more than 20 years of experience in the generation and transmission cooperative system; ranging from technical matters to senior strategic leadership.
Repsher earned a Master of Business Administration from Mississippi State University and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Mississippi State University and is a Registered Professional Engineer. He has held multiple leadership positions in the G&T cooperative space throughout his career.
“The 1803 Board of Directors were in full agreement that Ron was the best candidate to lead 1803 into the future,” said Jeff Churchwell, Board President of 1803 Electric Cooperative and General Manager of Northeast Louisiana Power Cooperative. “His dedication to 1803 and the cooperative model, his strategic vision, and ability to lead complex objectives are a great fit for 1803 and its Members.”
Repsher is scheduled to begin as CEO on May 30, 2026, marking the start of a new chapter for the cooperative.
“I am honored to have been chosen as the next CEO of 1803 Electric Cooperative,” Repsher said. “This is an exciting time for 1803 and furthering the cooperative model in Louisiana. I look forward to continuing 1803’s mission as we establish a legacy of providing safe, reliable, and affordable power to our Members.”
